NorthShore Plus FAQ

Got questions? Here’s a good place to start

How do I join NorthShore Plus?

We make that easy, and it’s free. Just visit the NorthShore Plus website. The first time you visit, you’ll see a signup form in the middle of the page. Just follow the prompts: You can also click the Sign Up link in the menubar or click here. In a few minutes, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Click on the confirmation link to activate your membership. Done!

I like one of your deals. How do I buy it?

First off, you’ve got to be a NorthShore Plus member. Once you’ve created an account and logged in, just click the Buy button on the deal you want before expires. This will move the deal into your shopping cart and take you to an order page. You can choose to buy more than one service or item, if the deal allows. It’s also possible to give something as a gift. If this is your plan, click the Give as a gift button and fill in the details when a pop-up window asks. Finally, click the Purchase button, and you’ll be taken to a secure page to complete your transaction. We accept most credit cards.

How do I redeem my deal?

If you’re logged into the NorthShore Plus site, you’ll see your name in the menu at the top right of the page. Move the mouse cursor to your name (or touch, if on a portable device). A menu will appear. Choose My Purchases. You’ll see a list of your purchased deals. Select the one you’d like to redeem, and print your coupon. In general, you’ll present this to the merchant. In some some cases, you may see special redemption instructions.

I’ve made my purchase, but I didn’t get a coupon

You should have been emailed a link to print your coupon shortly after purchase. Please check your spam folder. If you’ve changed email addresses recently, update your member profile at by visiting the NorthShore Plus online. When you’re logged in, you’ll see your name in the menu at the top right of the page. Move the mouse cursor to your name (or touch, if on a portable device). A menu will appear. Choose My Info. You’ll be presented with your Profile page. Verify we have your correct email address, make changes as necessary, and click the Update button to save your changes. To view your current coupons, choose the My Purchases from the same place you found the profile link. You’ll see a list of your purchased deals. Select the one you’d like to redeem, and print your coupon.

How long do I have to redeem my deal?

Depends on the deal. Let’s say you’ve purchased a restaurant deal that cost $15, and is worth $30 (per the listed terms and conditions). The first amount, $15, is the purchase value. The $30 is your deal’s promotional value. Each deal states an “expiration”, which is how long the promotional value applies. It could be three months or a year (or some other period). After the promotional value expires, your coupon is still worth its purchase value for five years. We recommend you redeem your coupon promptly.

Oh, no! My coupon has expired

After the stated expiration date of a deal, its promotional value expires. It’s possible a merchant may still honor the promotional value, but this is solely at the merchant’s discretion. In any case, your coupon is still worth whatever you paid for it for a period of five years from purchase. If a merchant refuses to redeem your coupon for its purchase value during this period, contact NorthShore Plus’ Customer Care department and we’ll work with you and the merchant to make things right. We recommend you redeem your coupon promptly.

A merchant has refused to honor my coupon or has gone out of business

At NorthShore Plus, we take the quality of our deals seriously, and make every effort to partner only with the highest quality merchants. But sometimes things happen. If a merchant has permanently closed their business or refuses to honor your coupon, contact NorthShore Plus Customer Care, and we’ll work with you and the merchant to make things right. We pride ourselves on treating our members and merchant partners with fairness.

I want a refund

At NorthShore Plus, we’re happy to refund the purchase price of any unredeemed coupon within seven days of purchase. Just email us at help@northshoreplus.com and we’ll get right on it. We’d appreciate knowing why you’re unhappy, so we can do better next time! All sales are final after seven days.

How do I change my password?

If you’re logged into the NorthShore Plus site, you’ll see your name in the menu at the top right of the page. Move the mouse cursor to your name (or touch, if on a portable device). A menu will appear. Choose My Info. You’ll see a button labeled Change my password. You’ll need to know your old password to do this. Enter your original password, then your new one (twice, in the fields indicated). Please refrain from easy-to-guess or simple passwords, particularly if they’re based on words you’d find in the dictionary, and don’t use publicly available personal info, such as a birthday or child’s name. Click the Update button, and you’re done. You may be required to log-in again.

Oops — I’ve forgotten my password!

It happens. If you’re unable to log in, click the Sign In button in the menu at the top right of the North Shore Plus site. Below the email and password field, you’ll see a link labeled Forgot Password? Click this link, fill in the email address you supplied when you joined NorthShore Plus, and submit. You should receive a reset link in your inbox. If not, check your spam folder and make sure you used the correct email address. Still no email? Email us at help@northshoreplus.com, and we’ll get you fixed up.

What’s this “refer a friend” thing?

We’re pretty sure you’ll come to love NorthShore Plus. Unlike many other deal services, we’re owned by longtime residents of the North Shore, and are relentlessly focused on finding the highest quality deals on the best stuff close to home. But we could use your help getting the word out. If you refer a friend or family member to us, you’ll receive a $5 Plus Bucks credit to your account as soon as they make their first purchase. These referrals must become NorthShore Plus members first, of course, and be first-time members who qualify for membership under our Terms of Service. We reserve the right to refuse credit if we have reason to believe a referral is spoofed in any way (including duplicate email addresses for existing members, non-real persons, pets, invisible friends, or anything sketchy). So play nice. But it’s a great way to help us grow, while earning Plus Bucks you can spend like real money on eligible deals. Just hand out the personalized referral link you’ll find under Your Info in the top menu of the site.
